In this video, I briefly discuss the importance of metering and referencing well- mixed tracks. If you donʼt listen to lots of music, how will you know what the balance of the mix should sound like? A common issue with some hip-hop mixes I hear these days is having way too much bass/low end. This could be due to people not monitoring correctly, or never comparing to other popular mixes. Metering/Spectrum analysis can be useful, but make sure you use them to reference, and donʼt “mix with your eyes”.

The moves I made on this track were a lot more subtle than in the previous video.

Listen carefully when I turn the plug-ins on and off, and see if you can tell the difference!
